TAC is very proud to have official recognition from the Welsh Language Commissioner by receiving the Welsh Offer – Y Cynnig Cymraeg. The Cynnig Cymraeg is awarded to organisations that have worked with the Commissioner’s officers to plan Welsh‑language provision.
TAC’s Welsh Language Development Plan was approved on 18.02.2026, and TAC is grateful to the Commissioner’s Team for the support in implementing the plan and guidiance through the process.
The Cynnig Cymraeg is an acknowledgment of TAC’s commitment to offer services in Welsh, to promote the language and recognize its importance through our work. The Cynnig Cymraeg states that TAC provides each of these services through the medium of Welsh:
- Services for TAC Members
- Resources for TAC Members
- TAC Website
- TAC Training Programme
- Services for the Public
- TAC Internal Procedures
Offering services in Welsh to the independent television production sector is essential for TAC. It is crucial that TAC can operate through the medium of Welsh to meet the needs of producers and the broadcasting sector in Wales. TAC therefore welcomes the Welsh Language Commissioner’s comments that the Welsh Language Development Plan and the targets agreed upon by TAC “have been designed in a way that is ambitious, yet practical and measurable.”
Approval of the Cynnig Cymraeg lasts for a period of 3 years and there will be an expectation for TAC to review the Scheme before the end of the period. You can learn more about the Welsh Offer and how to create a Welsh Language Development Plan here.
